Volt Industrial Plastics will close operations for a day on 1 June in honour of its founder, Joe Volltrauer.
The day would have marked Volltrauer’s 88th birthday and also marks the 34th anniversary of the company. Volltrauer founded Volt Industrial Plastics on 1 June 1992, which was also his 54th birthday. The company stated that his decision to establish the business on his birthday “reflected both his personal commitment and his belief in building something meaningful”.
It added that the closure of operations carries another meaning: a recognition that the company’s success is rooted not just in its products or processes, but in the vision of its founder.
In recognition of his vision, leadership and lasting impact, Volt has chosen to pause operations for the day as a tribute to the man whose entrepreneurial spirit continues to shape the organisation.
“Closing on June 1 is a small but meaningful way for us to honour Joe’s legacy,” said Heidi Volltrauer, CEO of Volt Industrial Plastics and one of Joe’s children. “Volt exists because of his determination and belief in what this company could become. This day allows us to reflect on where we started and the principles that continue to guide us forward.”
