Master Abrasives puts together applications engineering team

With business rapidly growing, Master Abrasives has set up a new applications engineering team to support customers in a range of applications.

The team will focus on providing assistance and support to customers interested in mass finishing and grinding machines and other technical products such as precision abrasive finishing tapes and Diamond grinding wheels.

Managing Director, Paul Batson, explained: “We’ve established this strong team to support our growing business and the customer requirement for technical product guidance. We are already well-known for our technical expertise and high-quality product, but this will reinforce our reputation and help to boost our business development in abrasives, finishing media and machinery.”

Ian Meredith, Martin Stevens and Kelly Warrington to make up the team

The applications engineering team will be led by Ian Meredith, Applications Engineering Manager. Meredith has gained vast experience in a range of applications as a qualified apprentice-trained engineer with many years’ experience in the bearing industry and subsequently the diamond dressing tool and abrasive industry. He is also involved with continual development in the Master product range, with the aim to provide grinding and finishing solutions to application problems that engineers often come across in different market sectors.

Technical Sales Representative, Martin Stevens, will be joining the team in his new role as Applications Engineer for abrasives and grinding machines. Stevens is also an apprentice-trained qualified engineer with over 30 years’ experience in industry and recent technical training on the Micromatic Grinding Technologies range of grinding machines, making him a key part of the team’s customer-facing support.

A member of the customer service team, Kelly Warrington, will provide vital assistance from the office as part of this new team. Warrington has been with Master Abrasives for over 2 years and has been working closely with Meredith in providing customer quotes and information on the Master precision product range. Since her training at Master Abrasives in Switzerland, Warrington also has a good knowledge of precision products and the type of information the customer needs to provide regarding their application for technical support from Ian Meredith or Martin Stevens.

Dave Beeby to take over Midlands area

Paul Batson concluded: “Taking over the Midlands area from Martin, Dave Beeby has recently joined us as Technical Sales Representative. He will be a great asset to our national sales team with a background and valuable experience in the abrasive industry. This territory change will allow the company to focus on the applications support we are proud to provide whilst also strengthening our sales team with the addition of Dave.”
