Atlas Copco Group has received the Red Dot Design Award 2025 for one of its industrial assembly tools, the MTRwrench.

Industrial Technique, a business area within Atlas Copco Group, has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2025 for its new torque wrench, the Atlas Copco MTRwrench. The tool has been developed to meet growing demands in industrial assembly for efficiency, ease of use and minimized downtime.

“In a world with limited resources, our customers’ need tools that help them do more with less. Today’s production environments demand workflow efficiency, minimal interruptions, and consistent quality, while reducing material waste and energy consumption,” said Henrik Elmin, Business Area President Industrial Technique. “The MTRwrench was developed in direct response to these challenges and is a testament to our commitment to continuous innovation and creating tools that exceed our customers’ expectations regarding efficiency, ergonomics, and performance."

The award is presented annually for products that demonstrate outstanding design quality and innovation. The Red Dot Award ceremony took place on July 8 in Essen, Germany.

The MTRwrench combines a compact and ergonomic design with a range of features, including extended communication range, a responsive click mechanism, and overload reset capabilities on the cradle. A fast battery replacement system and a power bank adapter enable continuous use minimizing downtime in demanding production settings. The MTRwrench includes integrated error-proofing technology to ensure consistent quality and reduce the need for rework. The tool is also constructed using recycled plastic, supporting Atlas Copco Group’s ambition to reduce the environmental impact of its products.
