Sydenhams has taken over Guernsey Building Supplies (GBS), bringing its store portfolio up to 14 builders merchant branches across the South.
Including Hire Centres, Kitchen & Bathroom showrooms, and the Flooring and the Timber Engineering side of the business, Sydenhams has 29 branches overall. GBS is Sydenhams' first branch on the Channel Islands.
GBS, based in St Peters Port, Guernsey, will remain trading as Guernsey Building Supplies for the foreseeable future.
Chris Carter, Purchasing Director of Sydenhams, said: “We are very excited about bringing GBS into the Sydenhams Group. We have great experience with off-shore trading from our branches on the Isle of Wight and we look forward to applying some of that knowledge and experience to our new venture in Guernsey.
