The Würth Group has been praised for its commitment to people with disabilities with a UN Global Recognition Award “Good Practices of Employability for Workers with Disability” in the “Management” category.
With a core business in the sale of fastening and assembly materials, the Würth Group is made up of more than 400 companies in 80 countries, with more than 76,000 employees on its payroll. Approximately 33,000 of those employees are salaried sales representatives.
The UN jury gave a special mention to Hotel-Restaurant Anne-Sophie, where people with and without disabilities work together every day, the Markus Würth Endowed Professorship for Pediatric Neuro-Orthopedics and Cerebral Palsy as well as facilities for people with disabilities in Greece and Kyrgyzstan and educational facilities in South Africa. Moreover, Würth has been supporting Special Olympics Germany, the German branch of the world’s largest sports association for people with intellectual and multiple disabilities, since 2008. This commitment to Special Olympics was initiated by Carmen Würth who has made it her mission to bring people with and without disabilities together and to promote understanding and tolerance.
