NORMA Group receives Women on Board Award for leadership diversity

NORMA Group has received the Women on Board Award from the Women on Supervisory Boards (Frauen in die Aufsichtsräte – FidAR) initiative, which recognises the company’s continuous increase in the proportion of women in leadership bodies.

The award is based on the Women on Board Index (WoB Index), which FidAR uses to analyse companies listed on the stock exchange and in the regulated market in Germany. In addition to the proportion of women on executive bodies, the evaluation for the Women on Board Award also takes into account the company’s own diversity targets, as well as its measures for gender equality and equal opportunity.

With a gender-balanced Supervisory Board and two women on its three-member management board, the company ranks at the top of the list, which includes all companies in the DAX, MDAX and SDAX.

Additionally, three-quarters of NORMA Group’s second management level below the Management Board is made up of women.

Moreover, NORMA Group has been among the leading companies in the WoB Index for several years.

“As a global industrial company, we operate in a dynamic competitive environment that requires diverse perspectives and leadership skills. A high degree of diversity in our executive bodies is a key component in securing NORMA Group’s future viability. Diverse perspectives foster innovation and resilience in an increasingly complex market environment,” said Birgit Seeger, CEO of NORMA Group.

The award ceremony took place as part of the FidAR Forum, one of the largest conferences dedicated to equal representation in management positions in the German business sector. In her laudatory speech, Barbara Wentzel, Deputy Chair of the Supervisory Board of Beiersdorf AG, said: “The increase in the proportion of women in leadership positions at NORMA Group in recent years is exemplary. Diversity is not just for show. It is a leadership decision. When companies make this decision, they don’t just change themselves – they change standards and expectations.”
