Vossloh to supply rail fasteners to Algeria

German rail technology specialist Vossloh has secured contracts to deliver rail fasteners and switch components as part of Algeria’s rail network expansion.

The company will supply fastening systems for what is described as the country's largest rail project, as well as deliver 300 switches by the end of this year. The wider programme includes work across three sections, with completion targeted for the end of 2026.

“Algeria’s rail expansion programme is impressive,” said Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh AG. “We’re pleased to have earned the trust of our customers once again and to support the development of sustainable, modern mobility in Algeria.”

Algeria is making major investments to upgrade and extend its railway network, aiming to expand the system to approximately 15,000 kilometres by 2035—more than three times its current size.

Earlier this year, Vossloh also secured a EUR 30 million order, supplying rail fastening systems for the UK’s high-speed rail network HS2.
