Two launches from Makita this summer

Makita has never shied away from adding to its comprehensive product catalogue, but users will be interested in the new Autofeed screwdriver and HEPA Vacuum, newly launched and with new technologies for improved performance.

The Autofeed Screwdriver, grandly titled the XRFO3Z, uses PUSH DRIVE technology and aims to provide a longer run time and superior fastening speed and can be used in a variety of materials and applications.

Speed and Time

To drill into that, so to speak, the 18v brushless motor has a maximum speed of 6,000 rpm and is capable of driving up to 2,250 screws in one charge of a standard Makita 5Ah battery pack. The operator is able to keep the motor running and the Push Drive technology only kicks in when the fastener engages, thus reducing noise and increasing run times.

Versatility

The new driver has increased versatility because it can accept screws from 25mm to 53mm long, so can be used on a number of materials from plasterboard to decking.

Depth of drive for fasteners is adjusted by a single wheel that is easy to set.

This autofeed screwdriver is designed for continuous use, so size and weight have been kept to a minimum – the figures? With battery, the tool weighs just over 2Kgs and is 39cm long. The trigger handle has a rubberised grip and there is a lock-on button to spare the trigger finger.

Makita’s LXT Battery System is the largest 18v slide style lithium ion battery system, and is designed to fit all of the wide range of Makita’s 18v (and some 36v) cordless tools. The specs below give users a quick rundown of the bare facts.

Also Launched - The New Makita 36 Volt HEPA Filter Dust Extraction System

Using two LXT 18v battery packs, the new Makita XCV22 dry vacuum gives users the option to collect dangerous dust and other debris from the worksite.

The vacuum features a powerful Makita-built brushless motor and an efficient three-stage HEPA filtration system that captures 99.97% of particulates .3 microns and larger. It is ideal for clean ups and dust extraction applications in concrete and masonry, woodworking, and rough construction.

The new Dust Extractor can deliver up to 80 minutes of continuous run time when using two 18V LXT® 5.0Ah batteries. The Makita-built brushless motor delivers 120 CFM and an on-board filter cleaning system is designed to maintain optimal suction efficiency and longer filter life

The Dust Extractor features large castors for easy transportation. Lockable rear castors prevent the vacuum from moving and a large rubber bumper helps prevent damage to the vacuum and the surrounding work environment. Batteries are protected from debris with a lockable cover and an oversized on/off button can be used by an operator who is wearing gloves. There are dual L.E.D. battery life indicators, and an easy-to-read variable speed dial that can be easily adjusted to suit a variety of vacuuming operation.

Bluetooth operated Auto Start Saves Time and Effort.

The XCV22 is engineered with the Auto-Start Wireless System. AWS® uses Bluetooth® technology for wireless power-on and power-off communication between the equipped tool and dust extractor. AWS® is an intelligent communication system that eliminates cords and excessive noise since the dust extractor runs only when trigger-activated by an AWS® tool.
