Founded in 1995 through the merger of two of the UK’s oldest and most established fastener manufacturers – Bullough Fasteners and Thomas Smith & Sons (Atherton) – Smith Bullough combines more than 150 years of experience in the manufacture and distribution of industrial fasteners. The company has built a strong reputation for producing specialised, non-standard fasteners through continued investment in forging and CNC machining capabilities.
Operating from Greater Manchester, Smith Bullough combines traditional hot forging with modern CNC turning and milling to deliver high-integrity fasteners and bespoke components manufactured to exact customer specifications.
Richard Garton explained: “Our manufacturing operation is designed to provide flexibility, control and consistency across a wide range of demanding applications. By combining in-house forging with precision CNC machining, threading and secondary operations, we are able to supply complex fasteners in both small and large volumes while maintaining a high level of quality and traceability.”
Smith Bullough works with a broad range of materials, including carbon and alloy steels, stainless steel, duplex and super duplex, nickel alloys, Monel and titanium, supporting customers across sectors such as construction, rail, energy, defence and marine.
