NORMA Group has reported a decline in financial results for 2025, with adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (adjusted EBIT) down by more than 80%.
The company said high personnel costs and special logistics expenses were the main reasons for the decrease in earnings and margin. In response to these circumstances, NORMA Group implemented measures to improve efficiency, which had a positive impact on production and overhead costs. However, these measures could only partially offset the effects of the decline in sales.
The adjusted EBIT margin in 2025 was 0.8%, down from 3.7% in 2024.
Sales in 2025 totalled €821.7 million, compared to €881.8 million in 2024, representing a decrease of 6.8%. The company said the decline was partly due to negative currency effects of 2.1%. General market weakness in key customer industries, such as truck production and the construction sector, weighed on demand. Weakness in the distribution business for connecting components also had a dampening effect.
“In a persistently difficult market environment, we managed to close out financial year 2025 in line with our forecast, and the measures taken to enhance efficiency are delivering initial results,” said Birgit Seeger, CEO of NORMA Group. “A debt-free NORMA Group with a strong balance sheet and a clear strategic objective is ideally positioned to serve as a stable and reliable partner for our customers, employees and investors, even in challenging economic times.”
In the fourth quarter of 2025, the company’s sales totalled €189.9 million, a decrease of 7.3% compared to the same quarter in 2024 (€204.9 million).
Recently, NORMA Group completed the sale of its water management business and has repositioned itself as an “industrial powerhouse” for connecting solutions. The net cash inflow of €650 million will be used to reduce debt.
Last year, NORMA Group announced that it would introduce a voluntary redundancy programme for employees at its sites in Maintal and Marsberg, Germany.
