Optimas promotes Randy Nelson and Matt Kubbinga to drive supply chain security

Global industrial distributor and service provider for fastening and supply chain solutions, Optimas, has announced the promotion of Randy Nelson to Vice President of Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing, and Matt Kubbinga to Director of Supply Chain.

Nelson and Kubbinga will be responsible for strategic planning, procurement, supplier performance management, process optimisation and automation, demand planning and forecasting, and inventory optimisation.

"The expertise and knowledge of Randy and Matt enables Optimas to embrace continuous growth and future innovation," said Marc Strandquist, President of the Americas at Optimas Solutions. "These promotions reflect the incredible leadership and hard work of the supply chain team to fulfill on Optimas' commitment to being a best-in-class industrial distribution and service provider."

Nelson has an extensive background in the fastener industry, with over 18 years at the executive level in sourcing and supply chain, with Supply Technologies and Brighton Best. He spent the remainder of his career with two large, multi-national OEMs, supporting manufacturing efforts in the supply chain area, along with contracting, logistics, and business KPIs.

At Optimas, Nelson's responsibilities are centred around the enhancement of worldwide sourcing, building an agile team, and process optimisation that places focus on customers' needs to secure their supply chain and elevate competitiveness.

Kubbinga moves into the new position of Director of Supply Chain, taking a lead on demand planning, forecasting and inventory optimisation initiatives for the Optimas Americas. Having previously spent five years as Demand Planning Manager at Univar Solutions, Kubbinga will use his broad knowledge of supply chain management to ensure customer inventory needs, optimisation and efficiency in his new role.

According to Optimas, both promotions bolster the firm's effectiveness in customer supply chain management in order to provide stability and product availability, at optimal cost.

In January, the firm appointed three industry executives to its leadership team; Marc Strandquist as President of the Americas, Mike Tuffy as President of International and Kate Daly as Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources.
