Dutch stainless steel fastener distributor Nestinox has launched an EHEDG-certified hygienic fastener line designed for food processing, pharmaceutical and cleanroom applications.
The new range includes cap nuts (dome nuts) with smooth surfaces to eliminate dirt traps, full-thread hexagon bolts engineered for hygiene, and washers with rounded edges for easier cleaning. All components are manufactured from A4 stainless steel (AISI 316/1.4401).
Key specifications include EHEDG certification for hygienic design and FDA approval for both direct and indirect food contact. The line is fully compliant with DIN and ISO standards and suitable for CIP/SIP cleaning environments. The fasteners are temperature resistant from –200°C to +400°C and available in all standard dimensions, making them suitable for a wide range of hygienic applications.
The hygienic fastener range also offers several benefits for distributors and wholesalers. One key advantage is market differentiation: the exclusive EHEDG certification provides a strong unique selling proposition, enabling distributors to position the line at higher margins, typically 5–8% above standard stainless fasteners. It also provides access to the growing food processing machinery market, where demand for certified hygienic components is rising rapidly.
Stock availability is another major advantage. All products are supplied from a central warehouse in the Netherlands, with 24-hour delivery across the Benelux region, 48-hour delivery to Germany and France, and three- to five-day delivery to the rest of Europe via the DPD network.
Comprehensive technical support is provided as well. Each order includes full material certificates, EHEDG documentation and multilingual technical data sheets. Distributors also gain access to application support for end-users.
Nestinox added that demand for hygienic fasteners continues to grow across Europe, fuelled by stricter EU food safety regulations, growth in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, increased cleanroom manufacturing and the rising adoption of automation in food processing.
“For 45 years, Nestinox has specialised in stainless steel fasteners, but we saw a gap in the market,” said Dennis Steegman, Managing Director of Nestinox. “Food processing machine builders need EHEDG-certified fasteners, but no distributor offered a complete range from stock. We’ve invested in certification and inventory to become the one-stop solution for hygienic fastening.”
