ForgeFix is partnering with Sheffield Wednesday FC’s Community Programme (SWFCCP) to offer young people firsthand experience in its operations.
As part of ForgeFix’s community initiative, the company will provide opportunities for young people and those not in full-time education, employment or training (NEETs) to visit its Bessemer Park site—where the company relocated earlier this year—through a series of open days designed to showcase its business operations and state-of-the-art facilities.
In addition, ForgeFix will host employment workshops to help young people improve their CVs and interview techniques.
“As a born and bred Sheffielder, it’s fantastic to be able to support SWFCCP and help youngsters from across the city gain meaningful experience as they explore career options,” said Michael Brown, CEO of Galleon Fixings, parent company of ForgeFix. “Working through the platform offered by Sheffield Wednesday, we can give back and help develop the next generation of workers.”
The collaboration with SWFCCP follows ForgeFix’s earlier support for Sheffield Hospital Radio, where the company helped fund the refurbishment of the radio facilities to bring the station back on air. ForgeFix added that its partnership with SWFCCP is part of its broader commitment to give back to the communities in which it operates and to use its resources to support young people in the area.
The Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme is the club’s charitable arm, established to strengthen community provision across the wider Sheffield area. Since 2005, it has delivered projects with a social value exceeding £8 million per year and remains dedicated to building stronger communities by working with people of all ages and backgrounds to tackle inequality, reduce violence, enhance mental and physical health, educate young learners, and help individuals re-engage with society.
