Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham brings Tom Kirk into Business Advisory Panel

Francis Kirk Managing Director Tom Kirk is among 18 Greater Manchester business figures appointed to a new Business Advisory Panel for Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.

With representations from each of Greater Manchester's 10 boroughs, and with a 50/50 gender split, the new panel is intended to bring private sector experience to advise on what the Mayor and his team can implement to make the area "the best place to do business".

The panel is an independent, informal and voluntary body, with members joining on a personal basis, rather than as representatives of their own companies or organisations. The founding 18 members will join for an initial period of 12 months.

Tom Kirk is the fifth generation of a family business which has been established in the Greater Manchester area since 1868 and celebrates 150 years of trading history this year. The company was originally founded as a trade counter in Denton high street and has now grown into a £7m turnover specialist business in the engineering and fasteners sector serving customers locally, regionally and worldwide.
