Industry to help shape Ecobuild show's future

The organiser behind the London-based Ecobuild Show is seeking input from the industry on the direction and format of the future show.

Two groups have been set up to help mould the format and direction of the event by Futurebuild Events, the new owner of Ecobuild. Futurebuild Events was set up by long-standing Ecobuild Brand Director Martin Hurn. The event was bought from UBM earlier this year with the intention to take Ecobuild ‘back to its roots’ and make it more entrepreneurial under independent ownership.

Hurn said that an advisory board and steering group will be on hand over the next few months to help make sure Ecobuild is “the platform to share ideas, learn about the latest innovations and establish new, valuable relationships”.

An advisory board has been set up and includes big name past exhibitors, such as Portakabin, Recticel Insulation, Celotex, Bauder and The Italian Trade Agency.

A steering group has been put together to bring together the industry’s leading, forward-thinking organisations, including the Construction Leadership Council, CIBSE, ICE, BRE and ZEDfactory.

A press statement added: “We’ve had some fantastic feedback from exhibitors, visitors, stakeholders and media partners so far and the responses are very encouraging. From this, three key themes for the 2018 event have been identified; leadership and innovation, housing and social inclusion – overcoming inequality and energy, resources and infrastructure. These topics are set to play a leading role in the centrepiece ecobuild 2018 conference.”
