Hire Show and Convention moves to Ricoh Arena in re-brand

There's a new venue and a re-brand in store for the next Hire Show & Convention, organised by the Hire Association Europe (HAE) and Event Hire Association (EHA).

The Hire Show & Convention 2017 will take place mid-week over 11-12 October at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

It's the second event rebrand in a week, with Totally DIY & Tools - also based at the Ricoh Arena - becoming the National DIY Show and moving from its traditional February time to early June in 2018. In addition, Ricoh also plays host to the Executive Hire Show, which will next run 7-8 February 2018.

The HAE and EHA's new Hire Show & Convention promises to be its most ambitious outing to date, this October. Now in Ricoh's purpose-built exhibition hall and conference facilities in an easily accessible, central location, the organisers are planning to "take the event to the next level".

New theme and conference schedule

More than 60 exhibitors, a full conference programme, workshops, discussion forums and networking opportunities will ensure that delegates utilise their time at the Hire Show and Convention 2017 to maximum effect. The theme for 2017 is set as ‘CONNECT-DISCOVER-LEARN’ and the focus will be on delivering insightful and thought-provoking content aimed to increase delegates’ knowledge and assist them in tackling the issues facing the hire sector and business community, regardless of the size and turnover of their companies.

The conference programme will include sessions on a variety of subjects including: empowering women into the hire industry; the research and development of future technology such as 3D, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and robotics; new construction methods; enabling the hire industry to position itself in the legislative decision making process; financial planning for anyone considering career breaks, retirement and new business ventures; cyber protection law and the face of the hire industry beyond Brexit.

HAE EHA managing director, Graham Arundell said: “The move to the Ricoh Arena allows us to deliver a larger and improved exhibition element to the event – it’s a bigger, more workable space and all in the one room, so much better for exhibitors and delegates alike. Also, the location is fantastic, smack bang in the middle of the UK with excellent transport links, making it easy to attend wherever you’re based. From a content perspective, we set the bar really high in 2016 yet, with the ideas already on the table and in the planning stages there’s no doubt in my mind that we’re going to top that, this October. It’s a really exciting time for the event and association as a whole.”
