New MD for Sundram Fasteners as founder retires after 54 years

Sri Suresh Krishna is to retire as Managing Director of Sundram Fasteners Limited, effective April 20 2018, when he will continue to be a Director and Chairman of the Board. Ms Arathi Krishna will take the MD role from that date.

Sri Suresh Krishna founded the Company in the year 1964. He has been at the helm of the business operations of the Company since inception. He has been guiding the Company for more than five decades and has made a significant contribution to the growth and diversification of Sundram Fasteners.

Sri Suresh Krishna actively represented the voice of the industry and served as the President of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) during the years 1982-84 and as the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) during the year 1987-88. The Government of India conferred the "Padma Shri" Award on Sri Suresh Krishna in the year 2006 for his contribution to the industry.

Ms Arathi Krishna has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Company, effective April 20, 2018. She has served as the Joint Managing Director of the Company since 2011, and has been on the Board since 2006. Under her leadership, several new product lines were set up and stabilised leading to a robust growth and operating performance of the Company.

Ms Arundathi Krishna has been appointed as the Joint Managing Director of the Company, effective April 20, 2018. She has served as the Deputy Managing Director of the Company since 2013, and has been on the Board since 2008. She oversees the operations of the domestic subsidiaries and the international subsidiaries in China and England.

The Board said it felt confident that given their past experience in the Company as well as the significant contribution they have made, they will continue to strive towards rewarding all the stakeholders.
