Institute vows support for staff of Aspray Transport

Free training has been offered to employees affected by Aspray Transport’s trading difficulties.

The Institute of Supply Chain Management (IoSCM) has stepped in to support the 400-plus employees affected by the fallout. Last week, Aspray Transport confirmed it had not been successful in solving its trading challenges.

As has been widely reported by the press and over social media, Aspray Transport’s difficulties have led the firm to close its doors, with today (Friday 16 August) reportedly the last day of trading. Aspray Logistics and Aspray International are unaffected.

Over social media, IoSCM said it would share CVs of those left unemployed by the move and hoped “the wider logistics and supply chain industry can work together to support the Aspray team through this awful time”.

Aspray Transport has been a key logistics and transport provider for the UK fastener industry. It was acquired earlier this year and entered into a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA).
