Protrade to host annual tool show event online featuring Wera & Milwaukee

East Midlands supplier Protrade has announced it will be holding its annual super-savings event online between Friday 11 September and Monday 14 September 2020.

The show typically attracts more than 1,500 visitors but has moved online due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and to comply with safety measures and social distancing guidelines. Protrade is one of many companies within the industry that have been forced to move events on line in recent months such as the China fastener Show 2020 which has now closed after a successful online nine day stint in August.

Maria Potter, marketing executive at Protrade, said: “Every September, we would host our tool show and there would be a BBQ, giveaways, and demonstrations, but with everything happening right now, it’s difficult to host something like that.”

“Because of Covid-19, several trade shows and tool fairs have been cancelled, but we would still like to offer trades professionals something exciting to look forward to”, she continued.

The online show will host eight premium brands, named the ‘Great 8’ for in depth demonstrations on the latest power tools and equipment. Brands include Milwaukee, Festool, Lamello, Wera, Mafell, Armorgard, Metabo and Maxitek.

“Rather than a Super 6, this year we have got the ‘Great 8’. Naturally, we’re disappointed we won’t be able to host our usual event, but rather than do nothing, we are going to move it online instead. We will be running a number of offers, giveaways, and we will be hosting demonstrations on our social media platforms”, said Potter.

The show will also feature new product launches such as Milwaukee’s launch of the MX FUEL cordless range and Wera’s festive Advent Calendar for 2020 as well as hosting face to face demos on its social media pages. Questions will be asked and answered by an installed chatbox function.

“Doing nothing wasn’t an option for us. This is a big event for our local community and while it won’t be as big as normal, we’re still excited about this annual event and we’re working closely with our suppliers and brands on the launch of some new products that will be made available over this weekend”, continued Potter.

Pre-registering for the online event will also automatically submit registers to a prize draw.
