Zircon Corporation expands market position

Zircon Corporation, the manufacturer of scanning and detection solutions (stud finders), metal detectors and electrical scanners, is expanding its markets with new distribution agreements in Portugal, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Tunisia.

Effective from January 1, 2023, Fred de Haas, European Sales Executive and responsible for all sales activities and business development in Europe, will focus on growth in these four countries and will transfer the sales and distribution activities of Zircon Corporation in the Netherlands to Havé-Digitap from Molenaarsgraaf (NL).

The further expansion of Zircon across Europe and beyond came from the interest generated during the Eisenwarenmesse 2022 in Cologne from countries where Zircon does not currently have distribution channels. After months of intensive talks with local parties, several distribution agreements have recently been signed in Portugal, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Tunisia.

As a supplier and knowledge partner of test and measurement instruments with an extensive distribution centre, Havé-Digitap has been a partner of Zircon in the Netherlands for quite some time. “Our certified specialists know the Zircon products through and through. From 1 January, both the construction professional and the retail channel can come to us for personal product advice, demonstrations and maintenance. We look forward to taking over the sales and distribution activities from Fred de Haas and thus further strengthening the market position of Zircon in the Netherlands,” said Olaf Merkies, Commercial Director at Havé-Digitap.

Fred de Haas, who has been working for Zircon Corporation since 2016, is delighted with his new role within Zircon. “Havé-Digitap is a strong player in the electrical engineering world; they are specialists who know the market and the growth potential. I hand over the business and the network with confidence, although I will remain involved with Zircon in the Netherlands in an advisory role. I look forward to focusing on the four new markets and I am very pleased with the connecting factor that the Eisenwarenmesse has been for the expansion of Zircon on a European level and in North Africa.”
