Würth Group reports H1 2025 financial results

The Würth Group has reported a declining pre-tax operating result for the first half of 2025.

Its pre-tax operating result dropped from €525 million in H1 2024 to €475 million in H1 2025, representing a 9.5% decrease. The company did not explain the reason for the decline. However, it said it was “financially sound” after receiving a renewed A/outlook stable rating from S&P Global Ratings.

However, the company recorded sales of €10.4 million during the period, a slight increase from €10.2 million year-on-year. After adjusting for currency effects, the growth was 2.7%.

Sales generated by companies in Germany remained at €4 billion, while sales generated by non-German companies increased slightly to €6.4 billion from €6.2 billion year-on-year. Companies in Southern Europe, along with those in Asia, reported double-digit sales growth driven in part by acquisitions.

The Würth Line recorded sales of €5.7 billion, maintaining the same level as the previous year. The Allied Companies showed strong performance, with the Electrical Wholesale unit growing by 11.9% and the Chemicals unit increasing sales by 10.2%. E-business continued to play a significant role, accounting for more than 25% of total sales.

As of 30 June, the number of employees worldwide decreased by 1.6% to 87,198 employees. Also, the company had around 44,000 employees working in sales.

“Overall, the business climate appears to be improving slightly, despite the erratic US economic policy. The number of orders received over the past few weeks points to an acceleration in growth in the second half of 2025,” said the company.

“For now, the Würth Group is entering the coming months with cautious optimism. Measures taken by Germany’s newly elected federal government are fostering a sense of optimism in the national economy, which could quickly replace the previous pessimism and dissatisfaction among the population.”

Earlier this month, Würth announced its support for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as part of its global campaign week, pledging a portion of the proceeds from its RW WORKOUT Week to a UNICEF initiative. The €400,000 donation will go towards establishing and expanding integrated children’s shelters in Ecuador.
