WorldSkills UK will field 19 talented individuals to represent the nation at EuroSkills Herning 2025, taking place this September.
The team will compete across a wide range of disciplines that support key government priorities, including the ambition to build 1.5 million homes and develop modern workplaces. These skills include Electrical Installation, Plumbing and Heating, Joinery, Cabinet Making, and Painting and Decorating.
Other members of Team UK will demonstrate their expertise in areas such as Mechatronics, Industry 4.0, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering CAD, CNC Milling, Web Technologies, Graphic Design, and Welding – all vital to the UK’s goal of becoming a centre of excellence in engineering and advanced manufacturing.
The country’s strengths in health, hospitality, and lifestyle will also be showcased, with team members competing in Health and Social Care, Hairdressing, Cooking, and Restaurant Service.
Having already undergone months of rigorous competitions and selection rounds, the team is now entering the final and most intensive stage of training ahead of EuroSkills Herning 2025.
“They will be tested to the highest standards, showcasing the skills that global employers are looking for, and will return to the UK with the knowledge and experience that will turbocharge their careers,” said Ben Blackledge, Chief Executive of WorldSkills UK.
EuroSkills Herning 2025 will run from 9–13 September, bringing together hundreds of young people under the age of 25 from 33 countries to compete for the title of Best in Europe in their respective trades and professions.
