Unytite centralises manufacturing data with CADDi Drawer

US bolts, nuts and fasteners manufacturer Unytite has implemented a centralised digital programme to safeguard decades of manufacturing drawings and records.

By adopting CADDi Drawer, the company has reduced engineering and production search times by more than 90%, consolidating nearly 60,000 drawings, inspection sheets, routings and customer specifications into a single searchable platform with controlled revision history. Teams can now locate information in under a minute by searching drawing numbers, part names, keywords or similar designs.

The centralised system has improved efficiency across departments. R&D teams can more easily review past designs, quotation studies and quality issues when assessing new projects, while Quality teams are able to quickly cross-reference drawings, alerts and previous corrective actions, significantly shortening investigation cycles. Sales and Production teams also benefit from improved access to historical product data and specifications, helping to minimise delays caused by information handovers between departments.

The move has also reduced reliance on individual knowledge holders, ensuring critical information is accessible across the organisation.

“Unytite’s US facility plays a critical role in supplying high volumes while meeting strict standards and ensuring full traceability,” said Jinshuo Li, Senior Manager of Customer Success and Business Development at CADDi. “Through our discussions, it became clear that centralising knowledge in a single repository would allow teams to quickly find the information they need and support more efficient decision-making.”

Prior to implementing CADDi Drawer, teams across R&D, Quality, Sales and Production spent considerable time searching for historical data required for quoting, analysis and process reviews. Engineering teams reviewed past quotation designs across multiple systems, while Quality teams manually searched for previous alerts, countermeasures and customer feedback. Sales and Production teams also faced limited visibility into routing notes and specification changes.
