Portland Bolt expands South Carolina manufacturing plant

US anchor bolts and nonstandard construction fasteners manufacturer Portland Bolt has expanded its manufacturing plant in South Carolina.

Located in North Augusta, the manufacturing plant location has grown from 25,000 square feet to 62,500 square feet. The expansion enables the company to increase production capacity, enhance service offerings and improve lead times for customers across the Eastern US.

The expansion includes a hot-dip galvanising line designed to provide consistent, high-quality corrosion protection for Portland Bolt’s manufactured products. Moreover, this new system not only enhances internal production capabilities, but also allows Portland Bolt to offer galvanising as a service for external partners across multiple industries, including construction, infrastructure, fabrication, utilities and transportation.

“This expansion represents a major milestone in our commitment to supporting customers with unmatched speed, quality, and technical expertise,” said Blake Ray, CEO of Portland Bolt. “By significantly increasing our presence on the East Coast and adding new capabilities, we’re improving national coverage with greater rush-order capacity, faster turnaround times and more efficient production flow, strengthening our ability to meet urgent project needs and deliver the industry-leading service our partners expect.”

Todd McGurk, VP of Operations at Portland Bolt, added that the additional space and equipment ensure we can produce, galvanise and ship high-quality products with even greater efficiency.
