Kingfisher has increased sales of its sustainable home products (SHP), which accounted for more than half of the group’s total sales.
According to its Responsible Business Report 2024/25, which covers the financial year from 1 February 2024 to 31 January, 53.4% of total group sales were from SHPs, up from 49.4% in the 2023/24 financial year. Sustainable home products also accounted for 63.3% of sales from Own Exclusive Brand (OEB) products, increasing from 60.1% in the last financial year.
Of the SHP sales, 9.8% were driven by energy-saving, energy-efficient and water-saving products.
The company has also reduced 66% of carbon emissions since 2026/17, with measures including purchasing electricity from zero carbon and renewable sources. In 2024/25, 92% of Kingfisher’s electricity came from zero-carbon and renewable sources, supported by Renewable Energy Certificates.
Moreover, the company has also installed air source heat pumps (ASHPs) at around 70 sites, with approximately 60 of these located at Screwfix and the rest at Brico Dépôt France, Castorama France and B&Q. Nearly 900 of our stores are currently heated by ASHPs.

Kingfisher has established plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across its direct operations and the wider value chain. In 2024, the company announced new science-based targets for Scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions, marking the next phase of its Net Zero Climate Plan.
By 2025/26, the company aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 37.8% and Scope 3 emissions by 40% per million pounds of turnover, using 2016/17 and 2017/18 as respective baselines. Looking further ahead, the company is targeting net zero emissions across its operations (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2040/41 and across its entire value chain (Scope 3) by 2050/51.
