fischer showcases fastening innovations at DACH+HOLZ International

fischer showcased a wide variety of products at DACH+HOLZ International, a trade fair for roofing, timber construction and building envelopes held between 24 and 27 February.

Covering an area of around 160 square metres, fischer not only debuted new products and showcased classics, but also offered interactive craftsman and professional challenges, promotions and live demonstrations to enrich visitors’ experience.

The hourly craftsman challenges consisted of two teams of two competing against each other to complete a typical timber construction application against the clock. The task was to attach a ceiling substructure made of wooden slats to a wooden structure, including overhead installation. By using fischer’s FAFS adjusting screw, alignment was smooth and precise, and screwing in was quick and easy.

Moreover, the hands-on area, where products were extensively tested in wood, concrete and vertically perforated bricks, was also very popular. Among the products on display was the FGW 90F fastening tool, which numerous visitors used to drive nails into wood efficiently and safely.

At the show, fischer’s range of wood construction, chipboard and special screws also attracted strong interest. Designs with different head shapes, drives and materials for a wide range of applications were on display. The PowerFast II and PowerFull II wood construction screws impressed with their safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Among the chipboard screws, the PowerFast II scored highly thanks to its wide range of applications, including wood-to-wood and wood-to-metal connections, as well as use with tested and partially approved loads in fischer plastic anchors.

New additions included PowerFast II variants made of A2 and A4 stainless steel for permanent outdoor applications. Also in focus was the PowerFast II step countersunk head screw, which can be screwed flush into the wooden component in accordance with its approval and achieves almost the same head pull-through load capacity as disc head screws, reducing the variety of variants required in stock. The portfolio was further enhanced with newly designed packaging featuring an optimised colour-coding system for faster in-store identification.

Other products on display included the FIS EM Plus injection system, PU foams, adhesive and sealant solutions, the new PV clip system including the FSMN M8 R sliding nut, and the FiXperience design software.

“Our appearance at DACH+HOLZ was a complete success, with intensive discussions, enthusiastic feedback and great interest in our solutions for roof and timber construction," said Michael Geiszbühl, Managing Director of fischer Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH. “The exchange with partners, customers and new prospects provided valuable impetus and numerous promising follow-up activities."
