fischer achieves Guinness World Record for drilling performance

fischer has achieved a Guinness World Record for the most holes drilled by a semi-autonomous robot within 24 hours.

The company’s fastening robot, Baubot, drilled 3,717 holes during the certified record attempt on 10 and 11 September at its test centre in Traiskirchen, Austria.

Each drill hole met the specified requirements, including a minimum diameter of 10 mm and a depth of 50 mm, with no overlaps allowed. The robot operated continuously for the full 24 hours, with only brief scheduled stops for tool and drill bit changes. The company said this demonstrated the robot’s “exceptional reliability and endurance”.

Moreover, the world record was achieved in full compliance with all safety and testing requirements. Verification was carried out by independent witnesses and an official Guinness World Records adjudicator, who confirmed the result in accordance with the official guidelines.

“The title is a great recognition for our Baubot, as well as for the expertise and dedication of our employees,” said Matthias Schneider, Managing Director of Digital Services/IT at the fischer Group of Companies. “With this title, we are demonstrating that our Baubot works reliably and delivers real added value in everyday construction work. This sends a strong signal to builders and clients that our Baubot is ready for demanding tasks on the construction site.”
