Fastener Training Institute (FTI) heads to Chicago, IL to host its next Fastener Training Week from August 25-29 as part of Mid-West Fastener Association’s FSTNR Week.

Sponsored in 2025 by Birmingham Fastener, Fastener Training Week is FTI’s flagship training program. Students gain Certified Fastener Specialist™ (CFS) designation by completing the week-long training and passing a final exam. “Keeping our industry safe and reliable though training is our mission. Key Fastener Training Week topics include consensus standards organizations, IFI resources, torque tension, QA systems & sampling plans, thread technology and gage issues, print reading & tolerances, material specifications for steel fasteners and understanding how fasteners fail.
Case studies, hands-on demonstrations, learning labs, general classroom instruction and plant tours facilitate the extensive curriculum – taught by Laurence Claus and Salim Brahimi from Industrial Fasteners Institute.
Fastener Training Week will be held at The Lincolnshire Marriott. It is ideal for fastener distributors, manufacturers, end-users as well as sales and quality assurance professionals. Plant tours are planned at Semblex and SWD, Inc.
