DEWALT supports further US tradespeople through partnership

DEWALT has formed a partnership with SkillsUSA, a student-led workforce development organisation in the US, to support future tradespeople across the country.

As part of the partnership, DEWALT donated US$100,000 in tools to the SkillsUSA Championships, a gathering of US’ future skilled workforce taking place in late June.

DEWALT also collaborated with SkillsUSA to distribute the tools utilised during the competitions to aspiring tradespeople across the US.

“At DEWALT, we are relentless in our commitment to removing these barriers for future tradespeople who are meeting the rising demand for skilled labour. DEWALT launched a partnership with SkillsUSA because of our shared commitment to championing aspiring tradespeople. Together, we are supporting the new generation of tradespeople as they become leaders on the jobsite,” said James Oh, President and General Manager of DEWALT.

Since 1999, DEWALT has contributed more than US$1.7 million in tools and donations to SkillsUSA. Looking ahead, DEWALT will continue to support the development of future tradespeople in the US, as the SkillsUSA partnership is part of its Grow the Trades initiative. The company will commit US$30 million by 2027 to close the skilled trades gap by helping provide greater accessibility and resources for trades training.

“We’re grateful to DEWALT for their continued partnership and commitment to the skilled trades. This generous donation not only supports the students competing at our national Championships—it also ensures that these tools go on to empower future trades professionals across the country,” said Chelle Travis, Executive Director of SkillsUSA.
