BUMAX AB has recently made a significant investment to strengthen its product development and quality assurance capabilities.
The move equips the company with advanced tools to further improve quality control and meet the increasingly high standards of its customers. Several pieces of equipment are already delivering results, with quality enhancements observed across all production batches.
Among the new additions are 120-ton and 25-ton tensile testing machines, which are now routinely used to assess the strength and deformation behaviour of fasteners before they leave the facility. A new optical measurement system has also been introduced, capable of detecting dimensional deviations as small as 0.0001 mm—far beyond the reach of the human eye.
The company’s R&D efforts have also been bolstered by a newly installed microsamples lab line, significantly expanding its testing capabilities. “At BUMAX, offering premium products means staying ahead in terms of both quality and service. Our customers rely on us not just for fasteners, but for the tools to optimise their own applications,” said Jonas Nilsson-Öst, Quality Manager at BUMAX.
Another key element of the investment is data integration software, which compiles information from various machines to offer detailed insight into material and manufacturing quality. The upgrade also includes a micro hardness tester and magnetic permeability measuring equipment.
On top of the new machinery, BUMAX has added a new team member dedicated to testing, while existing technicians have received training in the latest industry standards. “Improving our people is just as crucial as upgrading our tools,” added Jonas Forslund, Production Engineer.
