Samac Fixings has appointed Simon McElrea as Commercial Manager.
Before joining the company, McElrea spent more than three decades at independent merchant Frank Howard Tools & Fixings, where he built strong supplier and customer relationships and supported the company’s continued expansion.
In recent years, McElrea has also worked with the wider industry, including the National Merchant Buying Society (NMBS), for over a decade. He served as a specialist on various category committees and, more recently, led a strategic project focused on strengthening the supplier portfolio and protecting category value across the construction and industrial sectors.
Commenting on his appointment, McElrea said: “Business is about relationships, and people are at the heart of it.
