Swiss Steel Group showcases steel portfolio at Schweißen & Schneiden 2025

Swiss Steel Group showcased its portfolio at Schweißen & Schneiden 2025, presenting a wide range of stainless, tool and engineering steels.

The company used the trade fair to underline its expertise in specialty steels and its role as a trusted supplier to demanding industries worldwide.

The stainless steel offering includes martensitic, austenitic and duplex grades such as 1.4034 and 1.4301, complemented by high-alloy special steels. Engineered to maintain corrosion resistance and dimensional stability even after welding, these grades are widely used in pressure vessels, pipelines for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and precision surgical cutting instruments.

Tool steels remain a cornerstone of the portfolio. Cold- and hot-work grades like 1.2379 and 1.2343, together with high-speed steels such as HS6-5-2, deliver the ideal balance of hardness, toughness and wear resistance. These qualities make them indispensable for cutting and punching tools, shear blades and heavily loaded welding electrodes, ensuring the long service life of critical components.

Engineering steels further strengthen the offering, with heat-treatable and case-hardening grades including 42CrMo4 and 16MnCr5. Serving as the backbone of dynamically stressed components in welded assemblies, they are the material of choice for applications such as drive shafts, gear wheels and axles in cutting machinery. Their proven weldability and long-term stability ensure they meet the rigorous demands of modern mechanical engineering.

All grades are also available as green steel, produced with a significantly reduced carbon footprint to support the industry’s path towards sustainable manufacturing.

The 20th edition of Schweißen & Schneiden drew more than 37,000 visitors from 100 countries to Messe Essen. Held from 15 to 19 September 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for joining, cutting and surfacing technologies showcased the latest innovations, trends and solutions from over 800 exhibitors representing 44 nations.

Beyond exploring technology and placing orders, attendees benefited from the chance to share expertise and build international connections. Among the top visitor nations were the Netherlands, France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Brazil, Spain, Japan, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and Austria.
