SDP/SI introduces Shaftloc® for small shafts

US-based precision gear and high-quality mechanical component manufacturer Stock Drive Products/Sterling Instrument (SDP/SI) has launched Shaftloc®, a reusable and cost-effective alternative to traditional fastening methods.

Designed to offer product designers and device manufacturers greater flexibility and performance, Shaftloc® features a simple two-piece design that allows for quick and easy mounting or repositioning of hubless gears, sprockets and pulleys without compromising torque or stability.

The system is installed using standard tools. Its inner and outer sleeves, both with hexagonal heads, incorporate a unique thread profile that delivers strong clamping force, resists vibration and enables fully adjustable, quick lock-and-release functionality.

Shaftloc® is available in four styles: A-Type, M-Type, Double-Ended and Single-Ended. The Double-Ended version secures components between two opposing hexagonal heads, while the Single-Ended versions place both heads on the same side, leaving the face of the mounted component unobstructed. Made entirely from stainless steel, Shaftloc® is suitable for small shaft diameters and will not damage the shaft surface.

Simon Brazier, Director of Sales at Designatronics, commented: “The SDP/SI Shaftloc® design offers design engineers and OEMs a smart, efficient solution for securing components to a shaft. Its compact two-piece construction simplifies assembly and adjustment, enabling precise positioning without the need for keyways or set screws.”
