BHETA director joins Europe's HIMA

Non-Executive Director of BHETA and chair of BHETA’s DIY committee, Jon Langford, Managing Director of Croydex, has joined the Board of the Home Improvement Manufacturers Association (HIMA).  The role is a Non-Executive position, and Jon succeeds BHETA’s Executive Chairman, Andrew Weiss, as BHETA’s representative on the HIMA Board.

In a parallel appointment, Keeley Vernon, BHETA’s Home Improvement Sector Manager, will join the General Manager’s Committee of the Home Improvement Manufacturers Association (HIMA), representing BHETA’s membership.

HIMA is a European trade association based in Belgium, representing around 80% of the European home improvement market with over 850 member companies. It provides many benefits for its membership, running events such as the annual Global DIY Summit, providing networking opportunities, market data reports and international tours. It also lobbies on EU affairs. BHETA is one of the founding members of HIMA.

Commenting on Langford’s appointment, Andrew Weiss said: “I would like to congratulate Jon Langford on his appointment, and I am sure his detailed operational knowledge and experience within the sector will help him to be a great success in this role”.

Vernon added: “This opportunity with HIMA is a positive step that will forge future trading relationships and, through developing opportunities will help support our members in growing their export sales”.
